Projectupland.com. A publisher of beautiful images, interesting blogs and content with a recounting of a visit by American writer Nathan Parker Willis to Castle Gordon in Scotland in the late 1820’s. Nathan’s visit, just three short years before the Duke’s passed, subsequent bankruptcy and auction of dogs, provides a glimpse of the Castle’s atmosphere, the Duke and Dutches, and most interestingly insight about the dogs the Duke kept and bred as origins of today’s Gordon Setter.

Burnt Creek Method of Dog Training, by Jim Marti. This remains a solid pointing dog training reference from a real “Setter” guy. I had a copy from 25 years ago, loaned to someone who never returned it so I’ve repurchased it. A guide written in straightforward language setup as a workbook – checklist. If you follow Jim’s method you’ll be just fine. You may feel the quality of the “book” is subpar being spiral bound. The information is timeless and worth the $35.
